Playground42's First Newsletter!
Welcome everyone! We are beyond excited to introduce you to Playground42's first newsletter. This is a special moment for us as we begin a new chapter in keeping you, our little village, informed with all the amazing things going on so far at Playground42.
Newsletters are sent monthly to those that subscribe on our site, but as we all get our feet under us, I figured I'd add it here as well in case you didn't get a chance to subscribe. May has been a very busy month, and this newsletter is a high-level recap to keep you in the loop.
If you'd like to stay even more connected with us, don't forget to follow our social media accounts. There, you'll find much more frequent updates, exclusive content, and real-time interactions.
Thank you for being a part of the Playground42 village. We hope you enjoy this first edition and look forward to many more to come!
Crowdfunding
In May, we started crowdfunding our startup expenses. Your support helps bring a unique space for children and families to the Greater Dayton Area! Crowdfunding goes through July 6, 2024. We have several backers already and are hoping for more. So far we've raised about $200, but need much more support to reach our goals. To help donate, you can go to https://igg.me/at/Playground42/x/37588552#/
Website is Live
We officially have a website, complete with a blog, community forum, and events page! Check it out at Playground42.com
Free Events!
While we are searching for a venue, we will be bookable for large community events for free (terms and conditions may apply), and it will be free to have your kids come out and test out some of our toys & play furniture! We do need little quality assurance checkers after all! Events can be found at Playground42.com/events
Staff Shirts
On Instagram, we shared our custom staff shirt designs with our followers, including a cute little "CEO" (chief exploration officer) for our toddler that will be joining us frequently at Playground42. You can find all our social media links in the footer section of our website.
A Partnership Blooms
Playground42 has partnered with Blueberry and Third and has secured some of our first Montessori toys. With this partnership, we've gotten some inspiration and are going to start doing Pop-Up Events! Check out our website's event calendar to see where we will be: https://playground42.com/events
PLUS! If you'd like any of Blueberry and Third's items for your home at 10% off, you can use code Playground42 at: https://blueberryandthird.com/collections/all?sca_ref=6174597.VYtXtbrt7H
Advertising
Advertising has ramped up to brochures, planned pop-up events, Instagram and Facebook ads, Reddit posts, posts in various social media groups, reaching out to local businesses, reaching out to local news outlets, and much more. Please help us continue to spread the word that Playground42 is coming soon to the Dayton area!

Venue (not mentioned in the newsletter)
We didn't add this to the newsletter due to 1. Lack of space and 2. Lack of any notable updates. We've toured multiple venues across Dayton and haven't really fallen in love with all aspects of any of them. Either they're in a rough area, are too expensive, the ceilings are too low, or there isn't enough square footage. We're still holding out hope for a venue in downtown Xenia in the Market District Renovation Project, but if that doesn't come to fruition, then we are looking in, or as close to, Beavercreek as possible. If you know of a venue that could work, please contact us at Playground42LLC@outlook.com (We want at least 1500 SF, at least 10' ceilings, and in a safe area of Dayton as close to Beavercreek as possible at as close to $2000 a month as we can get)
That's all for now, but if you have specific questions or want to partner, please either reach out on our socials or shoot us an email. Thanks for reading up on some of our updates!
Best,
Kayla
